Exams and Qualifications

If you are choosing to pursue a career in music and are looking to gain industry recognised qualifications from grades 1 to 8 then I offer the following paths.
Both are recognised and can offer you the exam qualifications required to gain access for music degree or diploma.

Rock School

Rock School Piano exams put performance at the heart of the exam. Each grade has a wide choice of repertoire that covers all the key skills required at that level. tunes are written to reflect popular rock styles and inspire improvisation.
Rock school’s popular piano and keyboard qualifications are offered at Entry Level 3 (Debut), Grades 1-6 and Grade 8. They’re also accredited and have respective QCF credit values and UCAS points.

ABRSM

ABRSM Piano exams consist of three pieces, chosen by the candidate from the appropriate lists in the current syllabus, scales and arpeggios, sight-reading and aural tests. Total marks in all individual Practical exams are 150. 100 marks are required to achieve Pass, 120 marks to pass with Merit and 130 marks to pass with Distinction.
There are eight grades of assessment.

Our performance-grounded technical work and supporting tests are specifically designed to develop learners’ skills through the music they play.

The recognition you deserve
Candidates are assessed through an externally regulated and internationally recognised exam system, with a 140-year heritage that you can trust. They can gain UCAS points for Grades 6-8.
